Matching Pair of 19th Century Australian Cedar Bookcases, each one featuring glazed arched panel doors with hand drawn glass, the lower section with arched panel doors inset with flame cedar panels, below a shaped frieze drawer. The upper section internally fitted with three original adjustable shelves (only two shown in these pictures), and the lower section with a single shelf.
Would have been made by the same cabinetmaker. Very rare to find a true antique matching pair of cedar bookcases. Good 19th century finish with lovely warm colour & good patina. Bookcases are very similar in colour - any minor variation is due to the natural colour variation of cedar and different exposure to light over the years. Full cedar construction. All doors and drawers work well.
