19th Century Australian Cedar Bookcase, internally fitted with 3 adjustable shelves to the top section and a single adjustable shelf to the lower section. Made for a government department, it is of full cedar construction and bears a Government Inventory stamp for 1889 (see picture).
Good 19th century finish with nice patina. Excellent quality - oversize cedar used in construction - a very well made 130 year old bookcase, with no splits or cracks. Made in Sydney by a good cabinetmaker - possibly HT Jones.
