19th Century Australian Cedar Sea Chest with original rope handles and nicely carved detail featuring a star above a heart over crossed anchors, fitted internally with candle compartment, also with original lock and key.
Note the sloped sides for stability at sea, also the good dovetailed joinery, but it is the interesting carving to the handles that really sets this one apart! Pine bottom. The flat top makes it also useful as a coffee table, etc. One of the nicest sea chests we have had!
