HMAS Sydney Desk Set, with two crystal inkwells, made from the wood (most likely cedar) of HMAS Sydney, and with nickle plated brass mounts. The Light Cruiser, HMAS Sydney, which was launched in 1912,  defeated the German cruiser SMS Emden in 1914, and was decommissioned in 1928. Some items were made from the salvaged timber.

Showing an Art Deco stylistic influence, which was one of the dominant styles of that era. The blue enamel plaque has the words "Wood from H.M.A.S. Sydney". Inkwell lids not present.
