Antique Georgian Cast Iron Strongbox

18th Century Georgian Cast Iron Strongbox, decorated with recumbent lions cast in high relief to all sides, the lid fitted with a pair of hasp & staple catches for padlocking purposes, also fitted with carry handles to either end.
Used for securely transporting & storing cash & bullion in the days of stagecoaches. Has had a number of old repairs. (Pictures were taken with the strongbox sitting on a furniture dolly - not included.)
