Mid 19th Century Australian Cedar & Rose Mahogany Full Tester Bed, with 4 turned posts, the two foot-end posts (with turned, carved & reeded tulip form decoration) separated by a rail supported by 12 turned spindles. Scroll form, shaped headboard. original finish, lovely colour & patina.

Very interesting provenance, believed to have been previously owned by Sir Henry Parkes, "The Father of Federation" Dimensions are maximum measured at pediment, currently has a Queen width mattress (rare to find early beds this wide) or would take a slightly wider custom made mattress. Original cedar slats beneath mattress.
